TEXTURED PHOTOGRAPHY

By “textured photography” I mean photos that have texture, patterns, creative effects added to them by means of other images added in layers as “overlays”. To do this you need photo editing software that allows you to create layers, like Photoshop or Elements by Adobe or something similar. Above are just two examples of my own texture overlays which I have used in my photography work. I have created over 750 of my own unique textures for creative photography effects. Below is a selection of my creative textured photography work; click on an image to view it larger in the carousel:

The day I took these photos above, in St. Ives, Cornwall, was a dull grey day and the photos were a bit dull too. But adding the right textures to them transformed them; they turned them into works of art. Please view more of my creative textured photography below:

This is just a very small selection of my creative photography work. I love the creative side of photography. I guess there was an artist in me back then trying to get out – I didn’t realise it at the time. And I had no idea whatsoever that my creative photography would be inspiring my watercolour art in the future.
